Hi, I’d suggest it’s better to apply for a for-profit government business loan (also known as micro financing for women). Government business loans are funded by government grants which means that the amount of grant is used at source to offset the high cost of loan acquisition for eligible individuals. There are no grants to help you start a Non Profit Organization, but if you have already established a non-profit entity, then there might be grants (both partially repayable and non repayable) for that entity.

Hello. I am a 42 year old woman starting my first business. I am looking for help in the form of grants to accomplish this. I do not know whether to apply for a non-proffit business or a small business. The business is a community youth center boxing program that will be USA Boxing certified club. Can any one give me some advice in this area?

I am arecently displaced coprorate director and who has chosen to start a consulting practice focused on my specialized skills in improving business profit, and individual productivity using proven methodologies.
While finance is limited (3 Months) I was wondering if there is assistance for supporting my family for at least 2 years, because I believe that’s what it will take to reep some profits.

The type of business you’re in looks eligible for a government subsidized business loan. Also, I’ve seen a good number of entertainment related businesses thrive on a special kind of business funding called Crowd Funding – in which, you don’t even have to pay a penny back from whatever you raise in business funding. There’s a specific procedure of doing that and if done correctly, you can raise anywhere from $100 to $250,000 or more. Im starting a small business with the potential of growing from one state to the next. I would be looking for a grant that can offer income for the 3 owners for atleast 2 years so that we can fully utilize our time and resources for expanding the business as quickly and effeciently as possible. Its an entertainment company that will put on events, live performances (music and poetry/spoken word), music/video production & networking for all of the above.

There are Government Funded / Subsidized Micro Loan Programs available that could provide funding upto $35,000 for starting a small business and you may be eligible for some of them in your area ..
